The Evoque facelift gets small cosmetic tweaks that make a big difference

The Range Rover Evoque is an SUV largely popular for its sexy looks. We reviewed the vehicle just recently while its manufacturer revealed the facelift version abroad. The Range Rover Evoque facelift has now come to India for homologation. The company has imported two units of the SUV, one is the Pure variant while the other is the Dynamic variant. The Evoque went on sale globally in 2011 and until now, approximately 40,000 units of the vehicle have found homes. The Evoque facelift will go on sale in the overseas markets this month itself while we can expect an Indian launch to happen by early 2016.

The 2016 Range Rover Evoque facelift comes with quite a lot of changes as compared to the current model. The vehicle gets a new front bumper, larger air intakes, two grille designs (depending on the trim), all-LED adaptive headlamps and new alloy wheels. The rear of the SUV gets a redesigned spoiler and high-level LED brake lights. The interiors also get some changes like new seats, door casings, soft-touch materials and a bigger list of colour choices. SE variants get leather upholstery and 8-way adjustable seats while the top variants get 14-way adjustable seats with optional massage function.

Globally, the new Evoque gets a new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine while in India, it is likely that the current 2.2-litre SD4 engine will continue to be offered. The oil-burner churns out 190 PS of power and 420 Nm of torque and it is mated to a 9-speed ZF automatic transmission. AWD comes as standard on this variant of the Evoque. The present Evoque is priced from Rs. 59.82-78.68 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) and the facelifted model will come with a marginal hike in price. The Range Rover Evoque competes with the BMW X3 and the Audi Q5.
