German automaker Mercedes-Benz will officially showcase the new 2017 SL at the upcoming LA Motor Show and the vehicle has been revealed in pictures.
Earlier this week, Mercedes-Benz teased the facelifted SL and now some more details about the vehicle have come out. As we can see clearly, the front fascia of the new SL comes with an all-new grille which is similar to that of the A-Class. The vehicle also gets a new bumper at the front and redesigned headlamps which have a more flowing design. The ORVMs and the bonnet have got minor touch-ups too.
Moving to the rear, again there are new tail lights, a tweaked bumper and a new diffuser. There is also a lip-spoiler mounted on the boot. The top of the line SL63 AMG comes with quad exhausts. The facelifted SL also comes with new alloy wheels finished in a shade of black shod on Continental ContiSportContact tyres. Mercedes has also stuck a few carbon fibre bits on the AMG trim of the new SL.
The interiors are similar to some other vehicles from the Mercedes stable. The 3-spoke steering wheel looks sporty while the centre console is loaded with tons of buttons and an infotainment system. The gear selector is mounted next to the driver’s seat itself unlike some other Mercedes cars where it is placed behind the steering wheel. The gear selector also gets a new design. There are various modes like Individual, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Race.
Mechanical details of the new SL have not been revealed yet and they will come out at the upcoming 2015 LA Motor Show which will take place next week. The German carmaker might also showcase the new SL at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. The Mercedes SL competes with the likes of the BMW Z4 and Porsche Boxster, it will be launched in India next year.
