The 8th edition of Maruti Suzuki Motorsports Dakshin Dare is all geared up to be flagged off from Bangalore on 31st July and will cover a distance of 2200 kms in 6 days.
The motorsports division of Maruti Suzuki has been conducting a lot of rallies and expeditions across the country throughout the year. While the Raid De Himalaya and Desert Storm are extremely famous, the Dakshin Dare is also turning out to be popular thanks to its scenic routes and challenging driving conditions. This year’s edition of the Maruti Dakshin Dare will kick off from Bangalore on 31st July.
This is the 8th edition of this rally and will traverse from Bangalore to Coorg, Murdeshwar, Shimoga and will conclude in Goa on 6th August. The scrutiny check for the vehicles will be conducted on 30th July while the official flag off will take place a day later at the Orion Mall in Bangalore. A total distance of 2200 kms will be covered in a span of 6 days which will have 5 legs of the rally.
There will be 3 different categories for participants – Ultimate Car, Ultimate Bike and Endurance. We witnessed the rally in 2015 too and saw a variety of modified vehicles like the Maruti Gypsy, Esteem, Baleno, Swift, etc. Last year’s winner was Sandeep Sharma and this time too it is likely to be a close battle between him and Suresh Rana so it is going to be interesting to watch how the rally unfolds.
