The Mahindra Bolero facelift was spotted undergoing road tests near the Majiwada junction in Thane. The test mule was barely camouflaged, with only the rear bumpers and the tailgate handle being covered up.
The Mahindra Bolero has been a reliable blue collar work horse for our nation. The Bolero is one of the most rugged utilitarian blue blooded traditional SUVs. It has received a fair number of facelifts in the recent years, but still comes off looking old and dated when compared to its rivals. The spy shots reveal that there has been no huge overhaul in terms of its design, as only a few minor tweaks can be evidently seen in the images.
The facelifted Mahindra Bolero can be seen sporting a smaller tailgate with subtle changes to its shape to make the car look sleek and up to date. The rear bumper that is seen covered in camouflage will get minor styling tweaks. The tailgate handle also seems to have undergone changes.
The front of the car is not visible in the spy shots and might undergo minor tweaks to give the car a fresh look. There’s little to report about the interiors as well, but they will undergo changes such as the addition of new features to keep the car in competition against its modern rivals. It is expected to get some cosmetic changes on the dashboard and also new upholstery styling to look fresh from the inside.
Mechanically the facelifted Mahindra Bolero will be powered by the same 2.5-litre mHawk m2DiCR diesel engine, which churns out 63 HP of power and 180 Nm of torque. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine returns 15.96 km/l which is pretty decent considering the age of the engine and size of the car. The facelift might get launched by this festive season.
