The 2015 Honda CB150R is essentially the naked version of the CBR150R and gets an aggressive design language among a host of other upgrades.
While India will be getting the new CB Hornet 160R in the premium 150cc motorcycle category, Honda Indonesia has launched the 2016 CB150R Street Fire in the South East Asian country with prices starting at 25.4 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs. 1.2 lakhs). The CB150R Street Fire is essentially the naked version of the CBR150R motorcycle and gets the same underpinnings. That said, both the bikes are extremely different in terms of styling as the CB150R sports a fresh and aggressive design language.
On the outset, the 2016 Honda CB150R Street Fire is based on a diamond frame which gets a new muscular styling with a sharply styled headlight cluster that is split into two levels via the silver finished strip. The styling gets edgier as you move to the sides with the neatly contoured 12-litre fuel tank and the larger air shrouds that add to the brawny appeal. There is also a new plastic cladding that houses the ignition unit. The bike gets a step up single seat aiding in comfort for the rider and pillion while the grab rails are now split units. The exhaust muffler is nicely styled keeping up with the bike’s design theme and gets a rectangular tip.
In addition, the 2016 Honda CB150R sports LED tail lights and indicators, high positioned handlebars and LED blinkers. The bike also gets an all-digital instrument cluster now integrated with the headlight cluster and showcases most of the vital details. Coming to the powertrain, the new CB150R uses a 150cc 4-valve, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine tuned to produce 17 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic front forks and a single-side swingarm at the rear. Braking performance comes from the Nissin sourced disc brakes at the front and rear.
