Production of the 2016 Honda Brio facelift has begun and the Japanese automaker has even exported the first batch to South Africa where it has already been launched.
Honda launched the 2016 Amaze facelift a couple of months back and now the Japanese automaker is gearing up to introduce the Brio facelift in India. Production of the vehicle has already begun and the first batch has already been exported to South Africa where Honda launched the Brio and Amaze facelift this week.
The Honda Brio facelift borrows a lot of cues from the Amaze. The front bumper, grille, headlights, etc. are near identical to the compact sedan. While the Amaze gets a chrome grille, the Brio’s grille is finished in a shade of black. The side profile is similar to the outgoing model while the rear will come with redesigned tail lights and a wiper/washer assembly.
Changes to the insides are also major and the Honda Brio facelift now comes with the same dashboard that is offered on the BR-V and Amaze. However, Honda is offering a full black colour scheme here. The Brio also gets automatic climate control, Bluetooth functionality and a new instrument cluster.
The mechanicals on the Honda Brio facelift are likely to remain unchanged and the vehicle will come powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 88 PS of power and 109 Nm of torque. The engine will be offered with a 5-speed manual as well as a torque converter automatic transmission. The Brio facelift is likely to be launched in the festive season.
