Ford has officially showcased the Mustang in India today and the automaker has also confirmed that the vehicle will be launched here in the second quarter of 2016. Mustang fans can now rejoice because the muscle car will be available in a right hand drive layout with the most powerful engine on offer. The cult car does not have any proper rivals in the Indian market while in global markets it competes with the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger.

Design – The Ford Mustang has pure muscle looks and the styling looks very modern and sexy now. The front of the car continues to have that aggressive face and the large grille looks even more prominent in this generation of the Mustang. The headlights have a very strong design and the good looking alloy wheels add that extra touch of sportiness to the car. The side profile looks extremely well-designed and the coupe has perfect proportions. The rear also looks very modern and those white tail lights have a classy touch to them.

Interiors – Ford has worked on the interiors of the muscle car and the charm of modernity continues on the insides of the vehicle as well. The dashboard, centre console and door pads get a beautiful combination of black and silver and while the car now has a right hand drive configuration, the handbrake is still placed near the front passenger. The vehicle also gets a good amount of features like Intelligent Access with push button start, adaptive cruise control, MyColour gauges, Selectable Drive Mode, SYNC 3, BLIS with cross traffic alert, rear parking camera, etc.

Engines – Talking about power, the 2016 Ford Mustang is available with a choice of only one engine for the Indian market and it is the top-of-the-line powerplant. The 5.0-litre V8 engine belts out 420 HP of power and 529 Nm of torque, paired to only a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Safety – In terms of safety, the 2016 Ford Mustang boasts of features like eight airbags, Blind Spot Information System, rain sensing wipers, xenon high intensity discharge headlamps, TPMS, Post Collision Safety System, ventilated front disc and solid rear disc brakes and a lot more.

Ford hasn’t revealed the prices of the Mustang for India but expect them to be upwards of Rs. 80 lakhs when the pony car goes on sale. It comes via the CBU route.
