The Ford Endeavour will go on sale in India in the last quarter of 2015 and will be brought into the country via the CKD route from Thailand.
The next generation 2016 Ford Endeavour (Everest in markets overseas) will be making its debut at the end of this calendar year has been caught testing in Acharapakkam, Tamil Nadu. Wearing medium camouflage, this is the first time the premium SUV has been caught testing in India and will be competing against the Toyota Fortuner as well as the upcoming Chevrolet TrailBlazer in the segment. Based on an all-new Ranger pickup platform, the vehicle packs a host tech wizardry with several segment firsts as well.
The 2016 Ford Endeavour looks imposing with its wide body stance and draws design inspiration from the Kinetic design philosophy, also seen on other Ford models. The SUV will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive options with power most likely coming from the 2.2-litre TDCi four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 150 PS and the 3.2-litre TDCi five-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 200 PS of power. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an automatic unit on the India spec model.
Apart from the splendid design and powerful engines, the new generation Ford Endeavour will be more tech loaded than ever. The international spec model gets its very own Terrain Management System, SNYC 2 system, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, sunroof and a host of other features. The cabin is also finished in beige that will be a major hit with customers in India. To come via the CKD route in the country, the 2016 Ford Endeavour will be priced at around Rs. 25 lakhs (ex-showroom).
