The New Delhi Auto Expo will be held between 5-9th February 2016, while the Component Show will be held between 4-7th February 2016. Both the events will happen at different venues.
Jointly organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), dates for the 13th Auto Expo have been officially announced and the biennial show will be held between 5-9th February 2016 at the India Expo Mart and Centre at Greater Noida. The Component Show, on the other hand, will be held between 4-7th February next year and will continue to take place at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
Over the years, the Auto Expo has grown from strength to strength and witnesses participation from almost every major auto and component manufacturer. The 2014 edition that was widely accredited as successful (due to the shift from the congested Pragati Maidan) saw a turn out of over 1 lakh visitors on an average, everyday. Furthermore, the previous edition witnessed 26 global launches and 44 India specific launches, while over 200 two and three wheelers as well as over 300 cars, UVs and commercial vehicles were put up on display. A B2B Expo, the Component Show saw over 1100 companies participating with over 500 new technologies and over 5000 new products showcased.
Falling on the same lines, the 2016 Auto Expo will see more luxury players participating this time including Aston Martin, Bentley and Maserati, while Ferrari that will be commencing operations in India later this year, could also make an appearance. Over the five days, the Auto Expo will be ground zero for a host of new launches and concepts including the next generation Toyota Fortuner and Innova, production versions of the Maruti YBA and Tata Nexon compact SUVs as well as the Kite hatchback among others. The Jaguar XE has also been confirmed to make an appearance at the event. In the two-wheeler space, look out for the production ready Royal Enfield Himalayan, Bajaj Auto’s 400cc cruiser and the TVS-BMW K03 street-fighter bike.
