2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift Spotted Without Camo In Europe

2015 will see one more facelifted version of the Volkswagen Vento hitting our markets. Will Volkswagen be able to tackle rivals with this model?

The 2015 Vento facelift gets a new grille, bonnet, bumper and fog lamps

The Volkswagen Vento or the Polo Sedan that it is called worldwide was first introduced in India in 2010. After that, the sedan got a lot of updates very regularly. Some updates were too minor while some were quite significant. Recently, the Vento got a mechanical update and Volkswagen continued to power the sedan with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine while a new 1.5-litre TDI diesel unit made its debut. The Vento also got a 7-speed DSG transmission for the diesel as well. Apart from all this, the vehicle got some cosmetic and feature updates. The German auto giant is now readying another facelift of the Vento and the vehicle has been caught off-guard in Europe.

The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift will come with a slightly redesigned front bumper and now fog lamps. The current fog lamps are small and circular while the new ones are large and the same ones that come on the Polo. The front grille now gets three chrome slats and a number of small rectangles behind the chrome lines, very similar to the Passat but just smaller in size. The bonnet also gets a mild redesign while the headlights too have been tweaked. The lower grille that is housed in the bumper has also been modified quite a bit. The rear does not feature many changes but the bumper will come with a thin chrome strip at the bottom.

There won’t be many mechanical changes made to the 2015 Vento. It will continue to come with the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine and 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine. The sedan is also highly likely to get improved gear ratios for better drivability and fuel economy. The Vento has some real tough competition and Volkswagen needs to step up its game if it wants the Vento’s sales to come near the segment leader Honda City. Apart from the City, the Vento competes with the Hyundai Verna 4S, Maruti Ciaz, Ford Fiesta, Skoda Rapid, Fiat Linea, Renault Scala and Nissan Sunny.

The engine line-up is likely to remain the same on the new Vento
