2015 Volkswagen Vento Facelift Spotted For The First Time

Volkswagen will facelift the Vento yet again, its second such update in less than a year’s time. The vehicle was spotted without any camouflage and is due for launch by mid-2015.

The facelifted Vento gets multiple changes at the front but no major change

Facelift, the word which is often mis-used because we frequently come across facelifted models and some of them aren’t even different enough to be called a facelift, like in the case of the updated Maruti Suzuki Swift. Facelifts have become crucial in India for manufacturers to keep their models fresh amidst tough competition. Late last year, Volkswagen gave the Vento a minor facelift when it made changes to its diesel engine and also added a diesel automatic to the line-up. The company now plans to launch another facelift to its popular sedan by giving it a facelift, set for launch by mid-2015.

The 2015 Volkswagen Vento facelift was spotted testing recently. It gets a slew of changes but nothing major enough to shake the competition. Two models (TDI and TSI) were spotted in what seems like a parking lot. Starting from the front, the big change is the grille which is bigger than before and gives the Vento a more mature look. While the test car did not have different headlights, the company is likely to change it on the production model. The front bumper is all new and so is the rear (the exhaust tip is now visible) which gets a horizontal strip running across the trunk (above the number plate holder) and the same could be finished in chrome.

The test models carried different alloy wheels, one from the old Vento (the one which was first launched in India) while the other from the recently updated Polo. The interiors on the test car were the same with no changes other than a slightly darker beige finish on the dashboard. With the Vento having excellent engines on board, there will be no mechanical changes either. The key question is, will all this help Volkswagen counter the upcoming Hyundai Verna and the established Honda City? Our answer is negative.

Interiors remain the same as before with minor tweaks to the colours
The most obvious change at the rear is the new bumper
