The 2015 Volkswagen Polo GT TVC Commands Respect [Video]

2015 Volkswagen Polo GT TDI Test Drive

The new ad for the Volkswagen Polo GT shows boys trying to be cool in a convertible, but soon leave out the shenanigans once the German hatchback pulls over.

The Polo GT is one of the most performance friendly hatchbacks in the country

Volkswagen has been known for its extremely innovative and quirky ads that will leave you either awestruck or in splits, depending what the automaker is trying to convey. Subtle yet powerful and most definitely effective, the ads from the automaker possess the same attributes as its cars which hold an aspirational value in the heart of the driving enthusiast. With the latest TV commercial for the Polo GT, Volkswagen conveys the fact that the German hatchback also commands ‘respect’ from the young brigade.

Getting to the ad itself, you see three guys trying to make an impression in a jazzed up convertible acting cool with their hipster clothes, cool shades and the latest track from that equally desperate UK returned Punjabi singer playing on the audio system (basically Delhi!). The boys then see the handsome Polo pull to the side at the red light, only to bring them back to their rather uncool reality. Clever in every sense, the advert will leave you with a wide grin on your face as the Polo GT makes an exit in style.

One of the most solidly built and technologically rich cars in the segment, the Polo GT TSI and TDI models are solely meant to satiate the enthusiast in you. The GT TSI gets a 1.2-litre motor with 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque and is paired to the quick shifting 7-speed DSG automatic transmission; while the GT TDI uses a 1.5-litre unit producing the same 105 PS but 250 Nm of peak torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The hatchback is capable of doing the 0-100 km/hr run in 10.09 and 10.03 seconds (as per our VBOX tests) on the TSI and TDI respectively, and is one of the best handling cars in the segment.
