The Suzuki GSX-S750 street-fighter is a touring friendly offering from the company and comes with a slightly tweaked 749cc engine from the GSX-R750 full-faired sports bike.
Say hello to the Gixxer 155’s older brother the GSX-S750 street-fighter that has been unveiled by Suzuki Motor America for the US market. A naked version of sorts of the very popular GSX-R750 full-faired sports bike sold across Europe since 2011, the GSX-S750 is the latest offering to come from the Japanese automaker and will make its debut on US soil soon. Sharing its underpinnings with the GSX-R750, the Suzuki GSX-S750 gets a brawny and lively styling with angular lines that best shows up on the fuel tank, while the rear is jazzed up with LED tail light.
The exposed engine bits adds to the aggressive tone of the 2015 Suzuki GSX-S750 which is further complimented by the large exhaust muffler. The wide aluminium handlebar makes for an upright seating position and also shields the analog-LCD instrument cluster that houses the analog tachometer with a LCD digital speedometer plus readouts for gear-position, coolant temperature, fuel gauge, dual tripmeters, fuel consumption and a clock. The backlight brightness can also be adjusted. The street-fighter rides on 17-inch 3-spoke cast aluminium alloy wheels wrapped up in Dunlop sport-touring rubber.
Powering the GSX-S750 is the mildly tweaked unit from the full-faired GSX-R; the 749cc engine, in-line 4-cylinder engine has been tuned to offer bottom and mid-range power instead of peak top-end grunt. Suspension duties are performed by a fixed damping inverted fork at the front and a spring preload-adjustable shock set-up at the rear. Stopping power on the other hand comes from dual 310 mm discs with 2-piston callipers at the front, while a 240 mm single rear disc comes with a single-piston calliper at the rear.
Available in only a matte black colour shade, the Suzuki GSX-S750 has been priced very aggressively at $7999 (Rs. 4.93 lakhs) for the US market. The company is also offering a GSX-S750Z version that comes with a dual-tone colour scheme comprising of Metallic Triton Blue and Pearl Glacier White along with outer fork tuber anodized in yellow-gold, red fork adjuster bolts, shock spring and blue chain. The ‘Z’ variant comes at a marginal premium and is priced at $8149 (Rs. 5.03 lakhs). A sale date is yet to be announced by the company.
