Mercedes-Benz is preparing the next generation C-Class for a strong comeback in the segment, where the Audi A4 and BMW 3-Series is ruling the roost because of their up to date styling and latest gadgetry. Expect a host of changes on the new C-Class with heavy styling updates inside out and new mechanicals. The interiors reveal continuation of the current design language of Mercedes, which can be seen on the CLA sedan and its cousins. However, the styling elements on the C-Class’ interiors look more premium such as the new steering wheel with a flat bottom and touchpad control surface.
The 2015 Mercedes C-Class gets a lightweight body shell, which means, it will be significantly lighter than the current generation C-Class for improved performance and dynamics. The engine options and tech specs are yet to be revealed. The next generation C-Class will get a well-equipped cabin with advanced safety and convenience features. It will feature a tablet sized touchpad for the infotainment system and BMW-like heads-up display that shows all the speed and navigation related information on the windscreen for added convenience.
Exterior styling of the fourth generation Mercedes C-Class will see prominent changes over the current model. Mercedes has revealed a teaser video of the upcoming offering which hints about the latest design language of the Stuttgart based automaker. The next generation Mercedes C-Class will sit above the entry-level CLA sedan in terms of price positioning. The new model is likely to get a premium price tag over the existing C-Class. Mercedes is expected to reveal the next generation C-Class officially as soon as next month at the LA Auto Show or at the Detroit Motor Show, early next year.
