The 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift gets extensive changes to the front fascia with a new chrome induced grille, while speculations suggest that an AMT variant could be added to the MPV.
Scheduled for launch in the following months, Maruti Suzuki has been testing the 2015 Ertiga facelift for quite some time now and the model was recently spotted testing with minimal camouflage revealing the new front fascia completely. First launched in 2012, this is the first comprehensive update the Ertiga has received in the past years and features a wider single slat chrome induced grille surrounded by chrome lips. The revised front bumper on the other hand gets a revised fog lamp cluster with chrome inserts, while the air intake design has seen mild changes.
There are no changes to the side profile though, let alone the new alloy wheel design for the top-end variants and new wheel covers for the steel rims on the lower spec models. The rear will sport minimal changes in terms of styling and revisions can be expected on the tail gate and bumper with a lot more use of chrome to compliment the front. On the inside, the 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift will continue with the existing layout, but could get updated with a lot more features including new upholstery, better audio unit (with Bluetooth), climate control and safety features on more variants.
Coming to the powertrain, the new Maruti Ertiga facelift is expected to get minor revisions to the existing engine options for improved fuel efficiency to take on the Honda Mobilio, while major changes could include the addition of an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on the MPV. Rumours suggest that Maruti is equipping the new Ertiga with a 5-speed AMT unit that will make the MPV a lot more easier to drive, especially within cities. A marginal price hike is also expected on the Ertiga facelift with the new features, while the AMT unit could possibly feature exclusively on the diesel model.
