2015 Maruti Ertiga Facelift Could Launch In June, To Return 25.2 Km/l

The 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift will get oodles of chrome at the front while the interiors have been comprehensively updated with new features.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga made its debut in 2012 and was quick to become a favourite with sales being consistent throughout the past three years. With the new competition being equally admirable, Maruti has been working on a mid-life cycle update for the Ertiga and the updated MPV was recently caught testing in its production-ready guise. With a bag of chrome and new box of features at its disposal, Maruti is making sure to use both on the 2015 Ertiga in order to keep things fresh and premium while the engines will offer improved fuel efficiency.

The 2015 Maruti Ertiga facelift will be getting oodles of chrome at the front fascia with the new three-slat grille replacing the honeycomb mesh unit while the bumper has also been tweaked with chrome inserts around the fog lamps. The side profile is largely the same save for the new alloys and the rear gets a chunky chrome bar located on the tailgate that now has the ‘Ertiga’ moniker embossed just like the one seen on the Renault Duster or even the upcoming Lodgy.

On the inside, the 2015 Ertiga facelift will get a host of feature upgrades coming from the new Ciaz and Swift models with the range-topping Z+ variant equipped with climate control, reverse parking sensors, Smart Play infotainment system, keyless entry, push start button, leather upholstered seats, steering wheel and gear knob and much more. In terms of powertrain, the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine will continue to perform duties while fuel efficiency on the diesel is said to be increased to 25.2 km/l from the current 20.77 km/l and will be beating the Honda Mobilio (24.2 km/l) as the most fuel efficient MPV in the country.

Speculations also suggest that the 2015 Maruti Ertiga will come equipped with an AMT gearbox as optional that will make it the only automatic MPV in its segment and will be priced at a marginal premium over the competition. With the model almost ready to hit the showrooms, one can expect Maruti to launch the vehicle by June in the country with slight escalation in prices.
