Mahindra is offering a range of luxury and aesthetic accessories on the new generation Scorpio that can be purchased at the company’s dealerships to spruce up the interiors and exteriors of the SUV.
The 2015 Mahindra Scorpio was launched last week opening to mixed reactions from the masses. While the styling is certainly subjective and grows over you after sometime, it is the extensive improvements that have garnered positive feedback for the SUV. With the premise of going upmarket, Mahindra updated the Scorpio with comprehensively redesigned exteriors, while the interiors moved out of the utilitarian zone taking inspiration from the flagship XUV500 in the company’s stable. With a list of creature comforts on offer, Mahindra is making sure to provide a range of accessories that will entice buyers further.
For the exteriors, Mahindra is offering hoards of chrome that can be extended to the bonnet scoop, front grille, fog lamps, door handles as well as ORVM cover. There is also an all-chrome steel guard that can be added to the front and rear, if you feel all macho and chrome at the same time. At the rear, the chrome treatment extends to the airflow vents, number plate applique and bumper reflectors. In addition, the accessory pack include roof carrier, handirack as well as a choice of alloy wheels and wheel covers on offer. Other exterior styling elements include rear spoiler with integrated stop light, ski-rack, rain visor and rally fog lamps.
Inside the cabin, the accessories list gets longer with a host of upgrades and comfort features on offer including different fabric seat covers, floor mats, roof mounted AC blower, car inverter for charging different electronic devices and in-car cooler. Also available are the optional 9-inch headrest mountable monitors, 7-inch headrest inbuilt monitors (both come with DVD), GPS navigation and reverse parking sensors, all of which can be added at an extra premium.
The 2015 Mahindra Scorpio continues to draw power from the same 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine that produces 120 BHP of power and 280 Nm of torque, while the base variant gets the 2.5-litre unit producing 75 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Scorpio is available in a total of 6 variants with prices starting at Rs. 7.98 lakhs, going up to Rs. 11.46 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai)
