We have spotted test mules of the new Fiat Grande Punto numerous times but every time the vehicle would be covered in camouflage which would make it difficult to see the actual design. Fiat mistakenly revealed the looks of the Punto facelift in a company presentation so that did give everyone an idea of what to expect from the vehicle. Now, the 2015 Fiat Punto facelift has finally been spotted without any camouflage. The hatchback is completely revealed so let us have a look at the changes.
Up front, the Fiat Punto gets a large chrome grille with a chrome slat placed right in between. The fog lamp housings are also big in size and they too are given dollops of chrome surrounds. The entire bumper and grille assembly is completely new, hence giving the vehicle a nice and much better feel than the earlier Punto. The 2014 Punto facelift is much more than just a simple facelift since this feels like a significant upgrade. The headlight assembly has also been changed and this unit is the same one that was plonked in the Avventura concept. On the side profile, there are hardly any changes except the new alloys. The rear also looks new with the funky tail lamps, chrome lining below the number plate area and reflectors.
Moving to the interiors, the dashboard is borrowed from the new Linea and the interiors feature a full-back theme. We can expect Fiat to offer a black + beige combo too. The steering wheel and gear knob are wrapped in leather. The centre console featuring the audio system is offered in a glossy piano black finish. The 2014 Fiat Punto facelift will be offered with the same engines – 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engines and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine. It would be awesome if Fiat launches a T-Jet version of the Punto. The Fiat Punto will compete with the Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo.
