The Bajaj Avenger series has received comprehensive cosmetic upgrades with the Street 150 and 220 aimed at younger riders who want a cruiser to be easy to ride.
The Bajaj Avenger series received a long due update recently with the arrival of the 220 Street and Cruise models along with an all new 150 Street joining the lineup. While the 220 Cruise is all about chrome and keeps up with the quintessential cruiser styling, the Street twins are more about an urban finish and introduced some novelty into the brand that will appeal to those looking for an inexpensive yet good looking cruiser. Now, Bajaj has introduced a new TVC which gets all up close and personal with the Avenger Street series giving a good look at the new offering.
The 2015 Bajaj Avenger Street range comes with a host of upgrades for a more commute friendly ride and gets a lower set and flatter handlebar, new grab rail, fork gaiters, matte black paint scheme and improved headlight illumination. Also new on the Avenger Street is the low slung seat with thicker density foam for added comfort, new exhaust muffler with a better audio note, striking alloy wheels and clear lens indicators.
Power continues to come from a 220cc oil-cooled, single-cylinder DTS-i engine tuned for 19 PS at 5400 RPM and 17.5 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The Avenger Street is also offered with a 150cc single-cylinder motor tuned for 14.5 PS at 9000 RPM and 12.5 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. Both engines come paired to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike continues with telescopic forks up front while the rear gets a twin shock setup, whereas braking performance comes from a front disc and a rear disc brake.
The cosmetic updates have surely opened the Bajaj Avenger to a wider range of customers, especially younger riders who want a light-weight cruiser that is easy to manoeuvre within city limits. Bajaj is targeting an average of 8000-9000 units per month with the new Avengers, almost twice the sales figure currently accumulated by the bike.
