The Renault Duster came and conquered the entry level SUV market in India last year. The compact SUV was due for a facelift in the international market and was spotted several times camouflaged. Renault has finally revealed the facelifted version of the Duster for the model year 2014, which is intended to be showcased at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show on 9th September. The overall design remains the same but gets upgraded with new styling that enhances the 4×4 character of the compact SUV.
The front end of the updated Renault Duster gets a restyled busy grille with two chrome strips, revised bumpers housing lower-set air intake tipped with silver finished scuff plate. The broad headlights are now updated with double optics integrating LED daytime running lights. Coming to the side, the swoopy crease remains where it was and nothing has changed except a chunky set of 16-inch, dark metal 5-spoke alloy wheels that the automaker claims to be mud and snow tyres. The roof bars also remain the same except for the Duster badging.
At the rear of the Renault Duster facelift there are no significant changes apart from a fresh set of tail lamps and use of chrome. The lower half of the bumper gets tipped with a silver finished scuff plate integrated with a chrome-plated tail pipe. You can find new ‘4WD’ lettering on the body. The engine options on the Duster will remain unchanged for the international market as well as the Indian market. We can expect Renault to introduce the facelift version of the Duster as soon as the 2014 Auto Expo to boost up dwindling sales of their compact SUV.
