The popularity of “Compact executive car” is no hidden story from anyone in our Indian market. We all have seen the success of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The all new C-Class which is due to launch in 2014 in global markets is highly anticipated. Adding fire to our burning anticipation to the all new 2014 C-Class, the vehicle has been spotted which will replace the current variant. This spied mule was seen in Europe and is undergoing heavy cold weather testing.
Even though the next generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class was heavily camouflaged, hiding the details of the spied mule, there is still a lot to say about the car. The car expresses and posses a lot of cut and curves than the on going model. The A-pillar is quite similar to the current variant, this same strategy is also followed by the upcoming BMW 3-Series. But the most dramatic change visible is the all new headlamps and the new tail lamps, which speaks for themselves and indicates the new C-Class will bring a lot of changes to its front. The overall length has been increased as well, which will give better interior space to passengers.
There will be both petrol and diesel variants available and to further give its line up a spark we certainly expect a small capacity twin-turbo V8. Size and dimensions are not clear but the current model is 4591 mm long, 1770 mm wide and 1447 mm tall. The current crop of engines are most likely to feature on the Indian variant, with slight updates on the motor to make it more powerful and efficient. Expect the 1796cc petrol, 2143cc diesel and 6208cc petrol engines to do duty, with all of them being mated to an automatic gearbox.
