2014 Land Rover Discovery Facelift Revealed

Land Rover has officially announced the arrival of the 2014 Discovery facelift, which will be showcased at the upcoming 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show next week. The British automaker has made a few cosmetic changes on the outside as well as the inside. There are some additional features too along with few mechanical tweaks under the hood of the Discovery 4. The overall design of the 2014 Land Rover Discovery remains untouched but it comes with new styling elements such as redesigned headlight cluster which gains Freelander like LED treatment with daytime running lights.

The front bumper of the Land Rover Discovery has been revised along with the grille to give it a fresh look. If you notice, the clamshell bonnet now reads only ‘Discovery’ in bold lettering instead of ‘Land Rover’, which gives the SUV a separate identity. The side profile of the Discovery 4 is more or less the same, which comes with new wing mirrors with integrated turn signals and you have two new options of alloy wheels. The rear profile of the vehicle remains totally untouched.

Under the hood of the 2014 Land Rover Discovery is the same 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine that produces 256 PS of maximum power and 600 Nm of peak torque. All models are mated to the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. The new model comes with reduced CO2 emissions from 230 g/km to 213 g/km, whereas the fuel economy now stands at an improved 15 km/l. New equipment includes wade sensing technology, blind spot monitoring, closing vehicle sensing, reverse traffic detection and T-junction cameras. Bookings have started in the UK and deliveries will commence in mid-November. The updated model will hit our shores later this year as it is brought in via the CBU route.
