KTM announced that the all new 450 Rally Replica motorcycle will be available very soon for customers to purchase. The KTM 450 Rally Replica is the production version of the 450 Rally that won the 9000 kms Dakar rally, 13th year in a row in January this year. Marc Coma rode the 450 Rally to victory nearly two hours earlier than other competitors, followed by Jordi Viladoms securing the second place on the 450 Rally as well. The 450 Rally Replica will be available to customers who would like to take rallying to the next level.
The KTM 450 Rally Replica features an all-new frame incorporating an ergonomic design, a narrow body shape for better handling and an improved seating position. The rear suspension has been completely re-worked and boasts of multiple tanks with a combined capacity of 33 litres, which are located at different areas of the motorcycle. The multiple tanks are coupled with a new front and rear fuel-pump system and allow the rider to pick a fuel source to utilise the weight depending on the terrain.
The KTM 450 Rally Replica uses a narrow chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame and suspension duties are performed by 48 mm upside-down forks in the front and rear monoshock with re-designed linkage system. The new carbon tower at the front has improved the visibility of the front wheel to the rider with its narrower design making it the ultimate rally machine.
KTM says that the Dakar Rally victory has been possible thanks to the pivotal inputs from factory riders. The 450 Rally Replica was completely designed by KTM’s motorsport department with KISKA’s expertise from clay model to the complete design, along with significant inputs from KTM’s R&D department and technologies.
KTM is introducing the 450 Rally Replica to pass on the experience of a successful finish at Dakar to any rider who wishes to fulfil his rally dreams or wants to realise his ambition of competing in the Dakar rally. KTM offers the racing service for private participants in line with the one given to factory riders. The motorcycle is available for purchase at a price of $32,881 (Rs. 20.44 lakhs) from KTM’s showrooms in Europe. You can also opt for a service and support package available at the Dakar rally at an additional cost.
