Hero MotoCorp is surely planning a strategic onslaught on capturing the two-wheeler market share further with its range of products. Showcased last year, the company has launched the 2014 Hero HF Deluxe Eco, a more fuel efficient variant of the HF Deluxe at a price of Rs. 50,500/- (on-road, New Delhi). The HF Deluxe Eco gets a host of new updates aimed at providing improved fuel efficiency than the standard version.
The changes on the HF Deluxe Eco include air foils on the leg guards, restyled body coloured mirrors for better aerodynamics and low rolling friction tyres. The HF Deluxe Eco will be offered in a new and distinctive lime green colour with 3D body graphics. Mechanically, the Eco variant shares its powertrain with the standard Deluxe version.
The Hero HF Deluxe Eco is powered by a 97.2cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine producing 7.8 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.04 Nm of peak torque at 4500 RPM, mated to a 4-speed transmission. The motorcycle gets a tubular double cradle chassis and telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front. Stopping power comes from a 130 mm drum at the front and 110 mm drum at the rear. Hero has also provided an electric start, multi-reflector headlight and knee grip as part of the features list.
Just yesterday, Hero also launched the Splendor iSmart that uses i3S technology at a price of Rs. 49,967/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Splendor iSmart uses a start-stop system that is aimed at improving the fuel efficiency of the motorcycle. The Splendor also happens to be the first motorcycle in the world to incorporate this technology. Hero MotoCorp will be launching a series of new products and updates this year, the most significant being the HX250R motorcycle and Dash scooter.
