New Bentley Flying Spur Launched, Priced At Rs. 3.10 Crore [Live]

Bentley has launched the new Flying Spur in India, priced at Rs. 3.10 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The British automaker first launched the Bentley Flying Spur in India in 2008 and today the company launched the updated model at its dealership in Delhi, Exclusive Motors. The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur gets extensive changes to boost overall performance and appeal of this fast 4-door vehicle. In fact, the Bentley Flying Spur is the fastest and most powerful 4-door Bentley model ever produced. The company has made exterior changes and the vehicle looks even better than before, following Bentley’s latest design language seen on the Mulsanne and Continental GT.

Power output in the new Bentley Flying Spur has been increased and the 6.0-litre bi-turbo W12 engine belts out an impressive 616 HP of power at 6000 RPM and 785 Nm of torque at just 2000 RPM, coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. What further aids performance is the reduction of weight on this automobile. 0-100 km/hr takes a mere 4.6 seconds while 0-160 km/hr is achieved in just 9.5 seconds. Top speed is 322 km/hr which makes it the fastest 4-door car in the world. Claimed mileage is 6.8 km/l which seems tough to achieve given the performance credentials of the Flying Spur.

The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur boasts of 600 new parts in the interiors over its predecessor. In fact the cabin is almost all new with very few parts carried over. The updated model gets new steering wheel, new switchgear, revised centre console, new instrument panel, new seats (available in 12 colours) and a host of electronic gizmos including 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system (can be controlled via voice commands), advanced satellite navigation with Bluetooth connectivity. touch-screen remote for rear passengers, seat heating and ventilation.

One can also order the Flying Spur with the new Multi-Media Specification wherein the Bentley Connectivity Unit (BCU) offers an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot with an active SIM and 64 GB internal storage. Behind each of the front seats, a 10-inch LCD screen is installed, having multimedia players in the pockets beneath and the rear seat occupant can bask in entertainment from DVD, USB, SD cards, iPods, iPads and HDMI devices. The Flying Spur can be opted for in 4 or 5-seat configuration.

Other changes to the new Flying Spur include revised electronic damper control and electronic stability control (ESC) which along with better insulation help in giving the driver and passenger a very quite yet surefooted drive experience. So in short, the new Bentley Flying Spur is a significant leap over the model it replaces, showing improvements in almost every department. The super luxury vehicle doesn’t have any direct competition but the Rolls-Royce Ghost is the closest in terms of rivalry. The Bentley Flying Spur is for those who aren’t satisfied or impressed with the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series or Mercedes S-Class.
