The high end luxury saloon, Audi A8 gets a significant facelift with additional features and improved performance for the model year 2014. The German luxury carmaker has revealed the new version of its flagship sedan ahead of its world premiere at the 2014 Frankfurt Motor Show, which is scheduled to be held next month on 10th September. The updated model gets equipped with the new Audi Matrix LED headlights technology that houses 25 individually controlled LEDs, which can automatically split their beam according to the road conditions, oncoming traffic and turns. It also boasts sequential turn indicators that look stylish.
There are a few changes on the exteriors of the new Audi A8 including the new pattern of LED lights, revised grille and redesigned bumper. The tail lamp cluster now gets sleeker that hints at the facelifted Skoda Superb. The exhaust tips are now square shaped and rest of the body remains untouched. Coming to the interiors, Audi is now offering ventilated seats with massage function on more trim levels along with optional electrically adjustable rear individual seats. In terms of safety, the new A8 comes with lane assist, parking assist, heads-up display and night vision assist.
The 2014 Audi A8 gets updated with more power and improved fuel efficiency. The 3.0-litre V6 TFSI petrol engine now produces 310 HP, while the 4.0-litre V8 TFSI petrol churns out 435 HP. The 6.3-litre W12 remains unchanged, producing 500 HP of power. The 4.0-litre V8 on the performance oriented S8 also remains unchanged, which produces 520 HP. Specifications of the diesel and hybrid A8 models is yet to be announced. We can expect the updated A8 to hit the Indian dealerships in the near future, as we can see the test mules already running on our roads. The S8 might also be launched in the country, considering the Mercedes S63 AMG is on it way.
