The Renault Fluence is one of the most underrated cars in India. Launched as a brand builder for the French automaker, the Fluence manages to sell around 100 units a month. Now Renault has finally unveiled the facelifted Fluence for 2013, which although not a major upgrade, gives the vehicle a stunning appearance. The styling elements are very similar to the latest Clio and thus the Fluence receives a new front bumper with LED day time running lights incorporated in it.
Renault has also given the interiors of the new Fluence some updates. The vehicle receives new instrumentation, Bluetooth audio system, new upholstery, Renault R-Link multimedia system with touchscreen display and voice command system. Renault will start production of the new Fluence at its manufacturing facility in Turkey. The company will subsequently launch the updated model in 55 countries, including India. The Fluence is brought to India via the CKD route.
Renault has also given new engines to the 2013 Fluence. The 1.6-litre petrol engine produces 115 PS of power and is mated to a new X-Tronic CVT gearbox. The new transmission helps in reducing fuel consumption and the vehicle is claimed to return a mileage of 15.62 km/l. There is a new 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine too which produces 130 PS of power. This engine returns a mileage of 17.86 km/l. We can expect Renault India to offer the more powerful diesel engine, which will bring the Fluence on par with competition.
