General Motors has unveiled the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze Facelift at the 2012 Busan Motor Show. The American automaker has given the Cruze small upgrades on the outside, with the front grille and fog light section getting a re-design. The 2013 MY Chevrolet Cruze also features a new alloy wheel design. The company has also debuted their new MyLink infotainment system on the new Cruze, which is an in-car entertainment system. Using a 7-inch touchscreen, the Cruze can play almost all sorts of media from a USB pendrive. You can see the MyLink system in the video below.
It is still not clear whether General Motors will bring in the facelifted Chevrolet Cruze to India next month. The company will be launching a new version of the Cruze in June, which would feature an all new diesel engine. The Cruze will now be powered by a 2.0-litre Z-Series diesel engine which produces 163 BHP of power output and 360 Nm of torque output. Although the increase in output might not look significant, the new engine boasts of reduced turbo lag and better drive-ability. The NVH levels have improved as well.
The 2013 Chevrolet Cruze will first go on sale in its home market in Korea, followed by launch in other markets. It would be nice if GM bring in these small changes to the Indian Cruze next month, along with the engine upgrade. The updated Cruze being launched next month will see a price hike of around Rs. 40,000/-. With the recent price hike of petrol fuel, GM will not be launching a petrol version of the Cruze. The company was contemplating bringing in a petrol-powered Cruze last year but has abandoned all such plans.
