The Volkswagen Vento has captured the C-segment market share very successfully. A segment, which was led by the Honda City till a few months ago now sees the domination of the Volkswagen Vento. Honda has realized that a change in strategy is vital till a diesel powered City doesn’t debut. Thus the Japanese automaker first reduced prices of the City by 6%, followed by news of a City facelift debuting this festive season. Volkswagen has realized the potential dangers and is ready to unleash the facelifted Vento this October, 2011. This will prevent the City from taking any advantage and will help Volkswagen maintain market share over the City.
So what does the 2012 Volkswagen Vento have? Not much to start with. The engines remain untouched and there are no mechanical changes on the upcoming Vento facelift. However Volkswagen will offer more features in the Vento including steering mounted audio controls, a better music system and cruise control. The new Vento will also feature upgraded head and tail lights with smoked effect and new colours. A small price hike is also expected for the facelifted Vento but not by much. This will ensure the car is competitive against new rivals such as the Hyundai Verna and Ford Fiesta.
