Ford India is all set to launch the Endeavour facelift by the end of 2012 and we have just come up with a rendering of how the vehicle will look like. The company has already revealed the pick-up version of the new Endeavour (known as the Everest in other Asian markets). Ford India remains silent on the launch of the new Endeavour but the vehicle is one of the two launches Ford has lined up for this year. The other launch is the minor update to the Ford Figo hatchback. The EcoSport will be launched by March 2013 and the reason for the delay of the compact SUV is still unknown.
The new Ford Endeavour has a sharp looking front end along with minor changes to the rear. The overall shape of the vehicle is very similar to the outgoing model. New alloy wheels along with new headlights, tail lights, bumpers will make it to the new model of the popular SUV. However the most significant change has been done to the engines. Power will now come from a 2.2-litre diesel engine which produces 150 PS of power and 375 Nm of torque. A 3.2-litre diesel is expected too, which produces 200 PS of power and a massive 480 Nm of torque. The new engines are said to be more efficient too.
The interiors of the Endeavour have got a massive upgrade as well. Quality has been improved by leaps and bounds and the durability of plastics is said to be class leading. The all new center console makes the dashboard of the new Endeavour distinct. Interior room has marginally improved and hopefully Ford has resolved the third row seating, which is adequate for children only. Pricing will be competitive and the new Ford Endeavour can be expected to start at around Rs. 20 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This will ensure that the American car maker battles Toyota’s hot selling Fortuner.
