2 Pulsar CS 400 Spied Testing, LED Tail Light Spotted

Bajaj Pulsar CS400

The upcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 has been spied again. This time Bajaj was testing two test mules covered with camouflage, which could point towards a possibility of there being more than one variant.

So it’s Bajaj again, with its soon to be launched Pulsar CS 400. More spy pics have emerged, this time of two bikes being tested under heavy camouflage. However, some more changes can be seen in the recent images, especially towards the rear of the bike. Also, the presence of two test bikes may also suggest multiple variants being offered.

The first major spot is the rear exhaust which gets an aluminium cap unlike the full black prototype showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo, which resembles that of the Avenger series of motorcycles. The test mule also gets a saree guard which is more of a compulsion than a design choice. From the rear, the tail light set up does resemble that of the Ducati Diavel, not that we complain. The riding posture also points at a sports tourer like arrangement. It also misses out on the USD forks showcased at the Auto Expo.

As two bikes were spotted testing, it could point towards multiple variants being offered by Bajaj. While a CS 200 – CS 400 split is highly unlikely, there will most probably be an ABS and non-ABS option. The presence of ABS discs was seen on the earlier spy shots, confirming an ABS offering.

As for the engine, it will most probably be offered with a de-tuned version of the KTM Duke 390’s powerhouse, which may output 40 HP of power and 32 Nm of torque. With the regularly emerging spy shots, the launch is expected to happen by the end of this year. It is also expected to carry an aggressive price tag of 1.9 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai).
