In December 2021, 150cc bike sales improved well

The Bajaj Pulsar 150 occupied the first spot in the 150cc bike sales chart in December 2021, rising from the third rank it held only a month earlier.

Bajaj retailed 27,169 units of the Pulsar 150 and during the same period TVS’ complete Apache RTR range of models registered combined sales of 23,533 units.

Third place in the December 2021 150cc bike sales chart (top 10) was occupied by the Yamaha FZ which found near enough 20,000 new takers.

The Honda Unicorn came next. The Japanese brand sold 19,321 units of its trusty model this past month. Looks like the Unicorn’s customer base is not going to get depleted any time soon.

Fifth place in the sales chart went to the Yamaha R15 which is going from strength to strength with each passing month. The 150cc supersport-style motorcycle sold 8952 times over in December 2021.

Looks like buyers of the MT-15 are picking the more expensive R15 now

The next 5 models in the sales chart did not perform well. The Bajaj Avenger Street 160 registered sales of 1963 units, followed by the Hero Xtreme (1862 units) and the Yamaha MT-15 (1756 units).

In the ninth and tenth places were the Suzuki Gixxer (1213 units) and the Honda CB200X which registered sales of 919 units. Do note that Honda’s Hornet 2.0 and X-Blade and the Suzuki Intruder did not find any takers last month.

Models that registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth include R15 (64 percent), Unicorn (61 percent), Avenger Street 160 (47 percent), FZ (40 percent) and Pulsar 150 (36 percent).

Overall, the 150cc motorcycles in the top 10 list registered combined sales of 1,06,478 units, which is a 20 percent increase in sales (YoY).
