Look at the number of bikes that have seen their sales go down

In August 2021, 150cc bike sales reduced by a huge margin

Bajaj’s popular 150cc Pulsar bike topped its segment in terms of sales in August 2021 and led by a considerable margin from second-placed Apache RTR series from TVS.

The Bajaj motorcycle registered sales of 24,621 units, whereas the entire Apache range only found 16,423 new homes during the said period.

Yamaha’s R15, the version 4 of which was introduced only a couple of says ago, was ridden home by 9590 new buyers and 7608 people chose the FZ instead.

Only time will tell if the R15 continues to retain its dominance in V4 guise

Honda retailed 5679 units of the Unicorn in August, the popular motorcycle witnessing a drastic drop in interest from buyers during the period, and Hero sold 3344 units of its Xtreme range.

Another Bajaj motorcycle to feature in the top 10 August 2021 150cc bike sales list is the Avenger Street 160 which sold 2110 times over.

Yamaha’s MT-15 (1752 units) and Suzuki’s Gixxer (1279 units) which occupy eighth and ninth spots in the list, did not do well and neither did the Hornet 2.0 (414 units) from Honda.

Only 2 motorcycles, the R15 and Hornet 2.0, registered year-on-year (YoY) sales growth in August and the top 10 150cc bikes collectively posted 72,820 unit sales which is a steep -48 percent decline in sales (YoY).
