Another supercar hits the country. If you thought 2011 is the year of high end exotic car launches in India, you are pretty much right! Because German supercar maker Apollo has launched its hypercar, the Apollo in the country. InterGlobe Group will be the distributor in India, which also handles Koenigsegg, Vyrus, Arial and Hollister in the country. Gumpert founder has served as the director of Audi Sport. The Apollo is the firm’s very first car and is powered by a 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V8 which produces 650 BHP of power and 850 Nm of torque propelling the Apollo to 100 kmph in 3 seconds, 200 kmph in 8.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 360 kmph.
Weighing in at just 1200 kgs, the Gumpert Apollo is as light as the Fiat Grande Punto. The body is constructed of carbon-fiber, and the Apollo has zipped around the Nurburgring ring in just below 7 minutes 12 seconds. A 700 PS Sport version and an 800 PS race version of the Apollo is also available, should you feel the need, the need for speed. Now the only two questions which might intrigue your mind is kitna deti hai and price. The first question I can’t answer (because Gumpert has not declared and owners of the car have not bothered to check), while the answer to the second question is Rs. 5,00,00,000/- (that is Rs. 5 crore if your still counting).
